I am looking for such a feature too!
There are many threads i want to know if something new is posted.
Best is, if they apear in "my Forums".
There is the "notify" button on top of threads, but you only get an email
if someting new is posted.
I don't want to get dozens of mails every day, where i have to click.
It's better, if the theads or ordered in "my forums".
Most other board have a button "subscribe to thread".
I am sure there must be such funtion in the software or an add-on.
When the search is not working right, it's even more important.

it can be a virus, but it can be a hardware problem
a diskcrash or failure in the master file table of the hard disk.
So i would first run test and repair routines
rightclick on the driveletter and let test it for failures and bad sectors.

I had the same problem with ie6.
There may be two reasons,
to less free browser cache or the drive for the cache is nearly full.
And sometomes when i open 20 pics at the same time in new windows,
the first pics aren't still in cache and the browser has to reload them to
to save them.
Or most times a nearly full and fragmented disk/partition where you want to save
the pics. So when you save one, windows has to allocate the spaces on the disk
and fragmentate the file, wich needs the time. So best is to free up space and defrag
so the file can be written as one part on a free disk. That worked for me.
