Since the last forum-software upgrade approx. a month ago, it happens a lot that 1 or 2 spaces after a link (url) are being hotlinked, causing malfunction of that link.
Most probabely it has to do with a 'bug' in one or more of the forum-'editors' being used by our members. Vatsis is still trying to work it out.
In case this 'bug' has been bothering you, the best temporary solution is to always hit the 'Enter'-key immediately after you have typed the link.
Is this what you mean after a link: %C2%A0 because it seems to be many places here.
Yet it isn't visible until its in the browser. It's easy to chop off then, just an extra step hassle.
No, what he's talking about looks like below. These are all over the forum.

c2a0 is unicode representation of non-breaking space ( in html). TinyMCE starts with <p> </p> and it's probably from where it comes. And then the link-finding code probably does not treat as separator. So either the link-finding code must be fixed or this might possibly help too: http://wiki.moxiecode.com/index.php/TinyMCE:Configuration/remove_trailing_nbsp
This should be made a sticky on the main home page, I'm seeing loads of these, also sometimes at the start of a link too. Drives me... !!!
I wish folk would press the "preview" button before they post, and at least check that the link they're posting actually works before they hit "submit" ....
It's been awhile but I thought that using the preview feature first is (or was) often what caused the problem. The only way I've found to completely avoid such a problem is just plain to check the link after posting. If it doesn't, then you gotta edit. Yes, that's an annoying extra step but surely not too much work for guys willing to go to the effort to download tons of pix & videos. And, when other guys' posted URLs don't work, the first thing I try to make them work is to see if there's a blank space after it, which turns out to be the problem most of the time (for recent URLs.) My main problem then is deciding whether to then post a following message commenting on why the previous URL doesn't work (which could be taken as an insult) or ignoring the matter (which could be interpretted as jerky.) Have a nice day. It'd be nice if all posters in general could be taught to check their URLs after posting but, heck, I'm just happy that they share links with me at all.
