    What exactly is "BUMPING"?

Everywhere I go, I see "-BUMPING IS VERY UNFAIR !!!!-" or "bumping is unfair", so I guess it's a matter of internet etiquette.  I'm still learning.

I see this when there's a particular thread being revived after X amount of time.

    My questions are:

1 -  How do I go about getting new information about a model who's thread is dead without bumping or getting a reply stating there's already a thread?

2 -  Is the model in question, being diverted to her own thread (model or request a model)?

3 -  What establishes the difference between a model and a request a model?  There are "models" with 1 page and "req a model" with 8 or 9 pages.

-BUMPING IS VERY UNFAIR !!!!- (Bring Up My Post)...posting a reply to a thread merely to raise the threads' profile, and move it to the top of 'active' threads.

Exactly.  It is one of the most mortal sins you can commit in a forum like ours....

Thank you gentlemen.  This internet lingo is for the birds and I'll never understand it, but I'm trying.  But back to my q's...

You don’t, because there probably isn’t any, or she’s not that hot and nobody cares. If there’s more info or galleries out there it’s likely already listed in her existing thread. If it’s not, you should go look it up for yourself if it’s that important. Post it in her existing thread, and if anyone else likes her too maybe they will be able to find something you missed. Point being, contribute something new or nothing at all.

Not diverted but directed. If I understand your question here… it’s one thread for every model. One thread containing all known information for each model, rather than a hundred threads for the same model each containing bits of info.

Archive models are more popular/famous, or at least have been in the past. Models are moved from requests to the archive at the discretion of a moderator. During the original formation of the model archive some threads were moved previous to any sort of criteria. Several have been moved back into requests since a general guideline has been established for who really belongs there.

Yes we are aware of nine page threads in requests. Were also aware that 90% of the posts are all one linkers by the same guy. Or half composed of reposts and bumpers just trying to bookmark a thread. I’ll coordinate with the other mods and maybe we’ll have a second look to see if there’s anyone deserving.

I hope this helped you to understand how it works.

I understand how it works now.  Thanks for taking the time to explain it.
