Access to Peachy18 by minors.

This topic came up during chat earlier today.

I joined recently and was surprised to see that Peachy18 does not have any -18 Enter/Leave barrier.  Quite common for sites like this.

Anyone - even children - can come and go here.

I am unaware of law elsewhere, but in Australia such a site would be closed by authorities.

it is a good point mickeymouse..  but of course what does a little banner really do..  if a kid wants to see it, they're going to click and see it anyway..  but yes it is something that should be considered for peachy to keep it from ever having difficulties with the authorities

First, it's not that common with TGP (thumbnail gallery posts) to have the 'enter/exit' pages... look at our trading partners, their trading partners and the partners of their trading partners...

Second, I've tried those enter pages and the most of our trades resigned... and the remaining surfers didn't click enter / exit but... closed the window. They thought they were going to a paysite, those have enter/exit pages.

What I'm going to do to to keep the minors out, is keeping keywords that most childblocker programs will recognize and edit 'adult ratings' metatags to keep it 'explicit material'. Perhaps I'll also add that black black box at the top of the page we used to have: 'Warning - this page contains adult material' etc.

Thanks for reply.

With increasing number of TGP sites you'll see Enter/Leave banners nowadays.

Just few examples: http://www.teeniefiles.com  & http://www.natasja.net

Of course it will not prevent minors to enter such sites and it might cause tradingpartners to walk away.

But that's not the point. It all has to do with complying with international laws.

Anyhow Vatsis I trust you know what you are doing.

Just thought it worthwile mentioning.

Yes, it was truly worthwile - something I must solve in a few weeks. There are unsettling rumors about how the rules might become much harder for paysites, and by that way to all TGP's as well. If some heads start falling, better be safe then sorry.

Thanks about your post - and you're not a minor, are you? You like Mickey?

This is true Vatsis..  I didn't even think of the tgps, but yes now that I think about it, most don't have those screens.  And its like I said, I doubt those screens really stop minors when they get to them..  I for one, can remember when I was younger going to sites that technically I wasn't supposed to..  didn't stop me..

I think your idea for using the meta tags to let child blocker programs know what this place is..  that'll work out a lot better then a screen..

yeah, dont ever add an ENTER/LEAVE page --- I personally NEVER click enter -- it is always a bad sign for a site, it almost always leads to a paysite or some bullshit like that. . . we dont want to scare off potential peachy members.
