How Do I Do An Image Search??
Surfing Tips

Both Google Image Search and Yandex Image Search allow you to upload an image for searching. Google and Yandex work basically the same. On the image display screen you will see a camera icon to the right of the search inquiry bar, click on that and it will bring up a box that gives you several options for selecting an image to search on. You can enter a URL for the image, if it happens to be one on a website that you'd like to find more of, or you can select to upload an image for searching; this is what I generally do, as I've got a lot of images from years ago that I didn't properly document in regard to who they are and who produced them.

I performed the same search on both Google and Yandex using an image I uploaded; the forum software doesn't allow me to upload images into a post, so I'm substituting one of the results of the search. . The links to the search results screens are as follow: Google Kelly Carlson image search Yandex Kelly Carlson image search. Google has their best guess, a couple of maybe pertinant links, some images that maybe relate, and then a bunch of bogus links. Yandex provides an exact match and a ton of host sites, and does something that Google just won't do, which is why I always use Yandex for my image searches: Yandex will tell you right up front what other resolutions the image is available in, with links to a site that has the image in that resolution. This is a wonderfull thing. And when you look at the images that they bring up as being related, it does that with each and every one. Yandex does a far better job of finding host sites than Google. I had three images of one model that I'd downloaded at least a decade ago, no name, no source, nothing in regards to documantation. Google gave me nothing. Yandex lead me to a site that has six complete photosets for the model Ava, approx 90 images in each photoset; caveat, the site Yandex found is a Russian language site, so other than the name of the model, which they gave in English, I still don't know who produced the image. But I went from three nameless images to six full photosets with Yandex, while Google gave me squat. Yandex rules!
