they don't even bother looking down and seeing the general chat section.. |

I wish I had more time for gen.chat, but all I have now is a few ideas -
1) Moving "Discussion Topics" (with General Chat) to the #1 section, just above "Requests". Maybe people will then click it first? However, "Requests" is a good way to get new registered members... and it's our trademark to post/find new girls. But, things change... maybe we have so many old members that we should change our main forum as "General Chat"?
2) Disabling the PeachyChat. Just kidding :), but really it's since PeachyChat got more popular, the regulars started spending more time there... meaning less time for posting. PeachyChat is not the problem, but maybe trying to make it support General Chat more... like having it's topic changed by the hottest topic in General Chat?
3) Showing latest topics on the first page. Showing the 3-5 topics on General Chat might get some people interested - I've noticed that I regularly check only the "Last Post" -column on main page to see what's hot.
4) Enabling the Search and indexing also General Chat. ...so the old topics could be dig out by new members. It has always been my dream to index also General Chat, but with our current resources it's quite imposible... but it shall happen when hosting get cheaper & the new version of software comes out.
5) Banning anonymous users from PeachyForum. Well, it could mean we'd lose some lurkers because they don't want to give out personal info... but for those willing to register, it will lower the bar for posting.
6) Making General Chat more visual. Now when almost every forum has "preview pics" GC is starting to look visually old-school. Maybe generating a preview thumb from the attachement file and showing it with the subject could make it more fun?
7) Getting girls in the General Chat. Hey, not just the pictures but the real ones! When Julia & Pey posted regularly, I do also admit checking many times a day what they had to say... maybe posting a link to PeachyForum on "a teen lesbian/bi forum" ? Or, just asking a girl poster on PeachyForum to check also GC...?
8) Allowing Anynymous users to post in General Chat. Potentially very dangerous option... might get spammers & flamers excited. But again, they can also choose a nick and do what they wish... the bar would be extremely low to post for the new users. It would need lots of moderation, though...
What has been already done: Posting faster (no more waiting for a minute to get a msg posted).
What I'm not willing to do: Competitions (people should post just for the fun of it)
