yeah, sorry I didn't mean to make it personal.
Anyway, on that note that got me thinking about this whole Forum website.
it is good for exchange of gallery links and such, but perhaps another system would be better? (admins hopefully will read this at some point).
perhaps a Wiki-type system with thumbnails of each 'known' set from a model, and below that text links to various websites that have that particular set. This way, we don't get new posts on the same thing, while simultaneously 'organizing' what is known and what isn't known, what is available and what isn't. Oh yes, and a button next to a link allowing a member to delete dead/404 links...
Thoughts?
It may be apt that I'm bringing this up in the Alison FTV thread, as this thread is perhaps one of the ones that is most prone to excessive repeats of the same thing. For example, we often get links that are like this:
http://galleries2.ftvcash.com/First-Time-Video/galleries/Allison-Angel/x/xxx/xxxxxx-->where the first x in the url represents the 'format' of the auto generated gallery
-->the xxx is a three digit number referring to the set number (easy to see where she's at in terms of count... she's in the 250's or 260's now, i think). If you enter in a number that does not exist yet, you get a 'random' gallery generated from an older number, while the url does not indicate this. So then some people post up new 'numbers' in the url while showing an old set, because they don't know any better.
--->the last xxxxxx would be a six digit number that simply tells the server who-to-pay as an affiliate code. You can lop off these, still view the gallery, and not get someone else the cash for looking at the same thing.
Anyway, the point is that people here keep posting the same galleries, the same sets, nothing new because they (for one reason or another) haven't yet figured out the basics of that url they're entering in. there needs to be a filter to watch for the same shit being posted, I don't know.
Just a thought. Or two.
peace!
