Yeah, you ought to have a lot of fun with that. Remember though, you're shooting for them, not for you. Make sure you get the shots they want and need, not just the stuff that catches you eye. At first, you'll take tons of pictures. Make sure you carry enough memory clips so you can do this. After a while, you'll start to see what looks good and what does not. Make sure of your lighting, it'll effect shutter speed, and hence the hard or soft edges your pics will wind up with. Also, for nikon and sony digital series cameras, natural light brings out better skin tones.
I've been shooting pics for quite a while. Multiple years cataloging wild flowers in the appalacian mountains, and about three years shooting porn for my own website. Fun stuff all, but I could use some tips from a video guy..lol
