You should be able to download all the files that you want, but be sure to cancel your subscription after that one day or they will automatically renew your subscription at full price without asking you.

could you potentially use a prepaid creditcard for this purpose.  only top it up with $4 for example and that way if they "lose" your cancellation request or some shenanigans like that, they cant jack you anyways.

Some web sites limit your membership to one degree or another when you have a trial membership. Generally speaking, the more popular the site, the more likely this is to happen.
