This happened last month so I used search box and redid all my peachy bookmarks figurng it was part of recent problems/changes here. Now the same thing is happening again despite creating brand new bookmarks.

This is the page for Sarah Moon now: http://peachyforum.com/forums/t/sarah-moon-120141.aspx#564435

This is the new link I bookmarked again after doing search last month which worked fine:  http://peachyforum.com/error-notfound.aspx?aspxerrorpath=/p/120141/527395.aspx#527395

Seems redoing bookmarks a very short term fix.

Help, thanks

Forgive me but I'm still somewhat confused. When I redid the bookmarks I went to peachy search engine, looked up threads and then bookmarked pages which seemed to be last page in many cases. Is this why a month later the number after the aspx does an auto redirect to the search page?

All I'm doing now is when I bring up threads in search I click on name that brings me to their first page of that model and rebookmarking.  Is there any more a standard link that or is the aspx going to change again and redirect to search page.

The new bookmarks all worked for about a month before changing the aspx and redirecting to the search engine. My Peachy bookmarks worked for years before this first started last month without any problems at all regardless what I bookmarked.

Thanks again

Yes, that's why I suggested to use the traditional URL in my earlier post today.

A lot of users are using a Twitter account (or something similar) for bookmarking threads (i.s.o. browser bookmarks).  Non-public section for storing links.  Maybe a thought for you as well.  (Check the 'share'-buttons on any page)

Summary:

1. BAD: Direct links to a post: http://peachyforum.com/p/120141/527395.aspx#527395

This means "from thread number 120141 show the post number 527395". However, if the post 527395 is removed, there is a redirect to "not found page". So when you bookmarked links to latests posts they might not have been moderated yet, and when modarated they were removed.

2. GOOD: Direct links to thread: http://peachyforum.com/forums/t/sarah-moon-120141.aspx

OR

http://peachyforum.com/forums/t/120141.aspx

OR

http://peachyforum.com/forums/t/whatevertext120141.aspx

Those all mean "show thread 120141".

These links never die, even if the subject is changed or individual posts are removed - if the topic is not deleted.
For threads with multiple pages, "BAD" links (to a particular post) are in some cases redirected to the first page in a thread, which might not be the correct page.  For links like http://peachyforum.com/p/120141/527395.aspx#527395 this happens if the thread has exactly 2 pages.  For older links like http://peachyforum.com/thread/527395.aspx this happens always.

It would be nice to fix it (at least for former links).
OR   http://peachyforum.com/forums/t/whatevertext120141.aspx
This is slightly different when one links to a particular page in a big thread.  For example, the following link

http://peachyforum.com/forums/t/site-bugs-179443/8.aspx#645931

can only be replaced by

http://peachyforum.com/forums/t/WHATEVERTEXTsite-bugs-179443/8.aspx#645931

Pfffff...   Why make it even more complicated ?  Vatsis' reply is perfectly clear and what the heck if it's the right thread but not the right page.  Beggars can't be choosers !
