Hi, i would really like to watch the videos at http://free.nasty-angels.com/video/c8484hc/index.html?id=sinlords but they are encoded with DivX and i can't play them. I didn't want to install DivX but even when i did i still couldn't play them. So could someone please convert them to MPEGs with a different encoding (whatever most normally are). It needs to play on Windows with either WMP or QuickTime.

thanks.

Just download smplayer (free) from here

http://www.download.com/SMPlayer/3000-2139_4-10645077.html

In Options/Preferences/File Types select all. Now you have a player that will play almost anything!

Kiss windows media player and quicktime goodbye!!!!

There are other good free players mentioned within this thread

I'm sure there are lots of good media players out there but i don't want another player and i don't want to install codecs that i don't want/never use.

So could someone please convert the vids for me if it's not too much trouble.

thanks

Simply it's too much trouble. What you want to view/watch, is the new format and you are going to have to get used to it!

You are going to run into it more often and you can't expect people to convert movies for you.

I can convert movie files for sure, but I sure aint gonna bother wasting my time when you can simply do as recomended above.

When you install smplayer, it comes with the necessary codecs and you can play all the movie/music files you want.

Uninstall Quicktime and any other players as you will not need them anymore....... and just have one player.

There are free converters out there, so why don't you do it yourself if you can't get by with the players you already have??

I promise i won't ask you to convert any other vids for me :) I installed DivX and even got a converter that could convert to mpeg but nothing worked. All i get is a blank screen and sound, and when i converted to mpeg all i got was the company watermark on a green backgound. I am happy with the media players i have now and i don't want to go searching around for a player or codec that can play it if someone can simply convert it for me. And since it still didn't work even when i installed divx, i don't know what will work and what won't.

EDIT: hey, guess what. For some reason, i can play the vids now. And this is after i uninstalld the DivX codec. Quicktime still can't play them but WMP can! I don't know why because at first it complained that the codec was not found.
