Aias, if you want to put the movie in rar format, winrar will
automatically split it for you, if you set it to, while it creates the
rar file.
Your other (best) bet is not to split the movie into smaller movie
files, but to use a freeware (and much used all over the internet)
program called HJsplit. You can find it here:
http://www.freebyte.com/hjsplit/
which will split the larger file into smaller segments, and put a
numbered file extension on the end of the original file name (if your
original file was "dominic.mpg", then the split segments would be
dominic.mpg.001, dominic.mpg.002, etc). Split the movie so it's
small enough to fit onto a free webspace host (RS, MU, etc), then
upload the pieces. As each person downloads all the segments,
they'll be able to use their hjsplit program to recombine the segments
into the whole movie once again, in the same folder or hard drive
partition that the original split files were located.
This is one of the best programs EVER put out on the internet, it's
freeware, and it's not bloated with a bunch of useless garbage.
If memory serves, the entire program only takes up <200kb on your
hard drive! :)
