Just noticed that Hegre seems to be the first site to offer sets from their new shoots with a resolution of 6.000 pixels. Of course that is the way of the game new generations of digital cameras have higher resolution and bigger memory cards etc. But be honest - you really needs it????

Sure it is fun to see each hair of a model, but then you also only see just a part of her and not the full picture. You would need 40 inch monitors or beamers to get the whole picture...

For me 1.000 or 1.200 is enough. What do you think.

example given:
1.200 pix res

4.000 pixel resolution

The 6.000 resolution is so new, that he doesn't even have a sample. When I checked at + -models and , it seems true that Hegre is the first one, they still offer 4.000 or 3.000 as highest resolution...

P.S.: Just in case anybody wants to know  - samples are from this page:

The new resolution at hegre is mentioned here:

My old PC I'm using at the weekend even has some trouble viewing 3000 pixel photos. Any more would be a clear case for batch conversion.

I agree with you 100%, what good is a picture that big if you cant appreciate it on a computer screen. I suppose if you wanted to print a fullsize poster, then its good, but other than that who cares? For me, 1000 pixels is more than enough.

BTW, 100th Post! (I know, who gives a flying you-know-what)

I think those high resolutions are great! OK, nobody has 6000 pixel screens. But those high resolutions let you zoom in really close. Yes, it does take an up-to-date computer and a good viewer...
