Is there something wrong with the site? Since yesterday I have been getting an error when ever I try to upload an image, it’s been telling me that the maximum upload file size is 2.929KB lmao! Rather than 1.5MB… For some reason, IV doesn’t mention anything about a problem on the main upload page, is it just me?

No, it is not just you.  IV are changing their policy.  Soon they'll introduce 2 services:  a. free account with limited filesizes and b. Premium account unlimited, but at a price.... (like RS and ImageShack)

If you download their free upload-tool ( = safe) you can circumvent the present limitations.

Thanks for the info funky. I can think of a good number of other forums that will be, well, rather fucked over by this transition. Imagevenue has been, until now the only stable free image host on the net. Though I have a feeling many people will lose interest in IV once this happens and other hosts may become more reliable. I just hope it’s not the ones that we have banned (for good reason).

I like imagesocket.com...they are fairly quick and reliable and unlike IV, you can get a full size picture link with every upload. Also they have many more compatable file types than IV.

I saw this and had to comment.  I think Imagevenue is the worst image hosting site on the web.  It has tons of ads and popups which makes it slow loading.  Then there is that annoying Iphone ad that announces that you have won a free phone or whatever.  It's also laden with spyware that you probably don't know about unless your anti spyware program has caught it.  Some pics also contain a virus which my anti-virus program has blocked several times.  This is the alert:

There are several other image hosting sites that are not burdened with ads and popups.  This is the one I used above.

http://www.imagepile.net/

I wish everyone would stop using Imagevenue.  It is a awful site.  Please!

Hmmm, in my opinion Imagevenue is the best image hosting site. Quick and easy to use, I have never had any problems with popups or things like that. Probably depends on your location or settings...

All free imagehosts have ads and pop-ups.   That's their daily bread.....

Using good pop-up stoppers takes care of it.

Risk of spyware exists with all sites incl. imagepile.  Here again using an efficient (regularly updated) A.V. takes care of that as well.

If you click a link (eg. in some forums) with many hosted pic-links, it helps if you clear your cache for quicker downloading.
