Protest has been growing in New York City for two weeks, and now is spreading to other US cities. People are tired of big money and corporite greed. Funny thing is, not one word about it has even been mentioned here in the US on the news. It's like there just trying to hide it, but it's not working.

Video from yesterday as protesters shut down the brooklyn bridge:

I'm amazed that it didn't happen much, much sooner.

This just pisses me off. I live in NY so it's very likely I'll be going to the city within the next week with a crowd of friends already planning to go. At least for a couple of days. Funny how just a few months ago JP Morgan Chase randomly donated 4.6 million dollars to the NYPD. I have a feeling this will get much worse.

Just watched those posts......didnt seem that bad.....then I remembered, you havnt really seen this type of civil disrest and protest over there for thirty or forty years. Protest by all means, but keep it peaceful. No repeats of things like Kent State, etc. Keep safe. Drum

Take care Hunter27. I doubt anything can be accomplished peacefully at this point. There have been massive demonstrations against these endless, pointless, expensive wars, and ending them isn't on the table at all in Washington. In fact, both sides seem to be looking for new wars to start. Government stopped listening to the people a long time ago. I don't think protests will be listened to. They might pretend, hoping everyone will go home. Money is the only language understood by government any more. And it's both parties. The problem isn't Wall Street, it's money and the government.

This is what I meant about keeping safe. So where does Oakland get their cops? Graduates of San Quentin? I hear the police are defending their actions. If that survives a court test, we need new courts. This may get a lot uglier. vacuity

But will governments listen? Greece tried, by putting their austerity measures to a vote. They were soundly thrashed by the financial leaders. Greece dropped it's plan. How dare you give voice the people who have to pay for this? There are very serious problems involved here.

I believe the US president has been purchased. It has nothing to do with anyone's opinion, it's all about the $. The banks, the "federal reserve". Few people know that the federal reserve is a privately owned corporation, separate from the actual government of the United States. We, I demand a peoples system. Even if it be down with capitalism, it has to stop.

I don't vote, because it makes no difference, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way. It's all about who has the most campaign funds. Who's strings do the banks have more influence over. That person will be in charge because they can control our government.

I don't think change will come about this fall. There's a long winter and I'm sure several protesters will endure it, thank you. But, I think it will explode when winter breaks, in the spring. This isn't going to go away. People will die, it will get violent. The banks arn't just going to roll over and give up.

Greece has to blame itself for the present situation it is in right now.  In my book it was massive fraud on a government level, risking to pull apart the Euro currency.  Greeks really should not lash out to the hands (IMF and EU) reached out to them......  In fact it is bad behavior being rewarded at the expense of the tax-payers in the other EU countries.

No, it was Europe's fault for letting Greece in. If there had been a full screening of their political and economical situation, instead of the usual 'wishful thinking', then there would have been no problem in the first place.

Acceptgiros for Souvlakistan.

Greece used fraudulant figures to get into EU in the first place. The europe wide adoption of the euro was also started without any 'common sense'(sic). It was clear from day one that the balance could not be acheived.....Drum
