I've got 7 GBs of German Goo Girls movies, but I have a problem...

I'm no longer a member there now, and whenever I go to play the clips, they contact the German Goo Girls website in order to acquire a license (which they've always done) but now since my membership ran out, I can't get the "license" so they won't play! I've never--in 6 years of surfing porn and joining porn sites--have come across something like this before! What a load of crap! I paid for the fucking things and now that my membership expired they won't work unless I rejoin or pay their $1 a day fee???? What bullshit!!!! Does anybody have any recommendations on how I can get these things working again without having to pay for them AGAIN? If not, let this serve as a warning to people not to join their site. Sure, the vids are great, but this scam of having you always be a member in order to "view" what you've already paid-for and downloaded is total bullshit in my opinion. It just ain't right.Snail [sn]

That's what they call DRM - digital rights management - and this is just the start!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bill Gates and Intel have plans to take over complete control of your computer. In some of the next processor generation there will be a little chip who will tell your operating system, if you have the rights to run a file or not!!!

Happy surfing with Windows Vista - think I will stick to Win2K or Linux....

@ricky_ricardo:

There are dozens of tricks to deal with this. But think Gemini37 is already assisting you.

I sent you two PMs yesterday Gemini; posted one of them so you can take a look at it.  http://rapidshare.de/files/13430234/1488_01_large.wmv.html

I think the windows license thing is nuts - it's simply Microsoft's way of being able to get you used to having to pay licensing fees for everying - I wouldn't doubt it if old Billy Boy himself wants to be able to someday charge Windows users for EVERY SINGLE click of their mouse.

GGGGRRRRRRR!! What crap!! Person [Z]

Haven't heard anything from gemini yet.....guess he's pretty busy. No big deal.

Hey, Funky, do you have any ideas as to what I can do? Follow the link I posted above to one video that I posted on rapidshare. If you could, have a look at it and then let me know. When you try to either view the file in windows explorer or try to open and run it, my firewall says it's trying to access the internet and you get the pop-up screen telling me to enter my username and password. My old username and password are now dead, as you're aware. Anyway around this?

Oh, one more thing - you wouldn't be related to a guy who used to go by the name "funkdooby" would you? He's an old school poster I knew from way back in '99.

Thanks!

Hmmmm....some people are acting like this is a simple thing to fix (removing DRM's from videos), but in my experience it is not simple at all. For one thing, you need to have an un-updated version of WMP9 or (an older) WMP10 for this to even work at all. Meaning that even if you have WMP9 installed, if you let Microshaft update Windows at any time, it won't work. Most people have to reformat Windows to achieve this because if you have (a later version of) WMP10 installed you can NOT roll back to 9 because a number of shared .dlls will stay and prevent this scheme from happening. Nobody has ever been able to pull this off on the very latest version of WMP10 to the best of my knowledge. Like I said I am not aware of anything that could possibly do this short of the program called drmdbg, the one that started all of this smoke and mirrors.
Let's face it, if there was an easy way around this it would be on millions of help-sites and forums and download sites by now.....and it simply isn't. And if this wasn't bad enough news, even the guys that have pulled this scheme off after much wrangling and hours of work.....all agree, that you MUST have the serial at least once to proceed.
I am not doubting these guys at all, Gem and Funky are both very crafty individuals, but I would like to see proof that whatever they have works, without having to rip out the kitchen sink.

I'm not a tech guru, but what you said seems to make sense on the surface of the issue...at least to me, anyway.

I entered in my old username and password when trying to view them but then my firewall tells me that windows media player wants access to the internet (I guess its going to the site in order to verify the username and password). It won't play whether I grant it access or not because if I do, then it says bad username and password and brings up a popup that offers me options to rejoin and if I don't grant it access it simply won't play and gives the the username and password error.

So I'm screwed either way.

I'm on othe verge of just deleting the entire folder. It's nearly 8 gigs of wasted space on my hard drive right now and unless I can figure out a way to resolve this problem, then there's no use in my keeping a huge block of data I can't use.

What really pisses me off is that I paid for this shit that I now can't use!!!! Person [Z]Person [Z]Person [Z]

I guess I can issue a warning to those thinking of joining the German Goo Girls:

DON'T!!!!!!

Yeah Danni.com has DRM protected videos too - some videos have quicktime versions aswell, but I think they maybe the older videos.

At least DDGirls has a warning saying their wmv videos are DRM protected and they have the option of downloading either wmv or quicktime (both in high or low quality) - I wonder if anyone ever downloads their wmv videos??

I hope someone figures out a way around drm that the average user can do, especially with the talk of it being used for next gen dvds. I once tried the method Fucktard mentioned - fuck that!- can't remember what I had to do, but I remember it was a lot of stuffing around and was over my head - I gave up in the end. Maybe it was some other method - it was a fair while ago, but it does sounds familar.

Although it wouldn't help you Ricky being unable to play them at all, I've seen that some people screen capture the drm videos, but personally I wouldn't bother with that myself.

Ricky, I guess you probably would have thought of it, but if your able, I'd recommend at least backing up the videos before deleting - hopefully something might come up in the future to get around it. If DRM is used on blu-ray movies or whatever (if that's still gonna happen - I haven't kept up with it), it may get a larger group of people trying to hack it and hopefully speed up the process??

I'm just so sick and tired of this whole thing that I'm going to delete all of them. Best thing I can suggest is that people should wise-up to this kind of bullshit and not allow themselves to take part in it (i.e. don't join a site that does this sort of crap). GGG didn't say up-front that their videos are protected and that you'll be tied to them forever, dollar-wise, if you wish to continue viewing them. My feeling is that if you pay for something then it's yours to keep as long as you keep it to yourself. What would people say if they went to Wal Mart to buy a DVD or a CD and everytime they go to play it they have to have an ACTIVE membership (that they need to PAY for, naturally) with the company that SOLD them those DVDs and CDs? They wouldn't put up with it! There would be a world-wide, collective outrage over the very idea of such a thing. Yet here on the internet, purveyors of filth think that they're gonna be able to fatten their wallets some more by engaging in this type of behavior. Well, I hope they learn their lesson by reduced memberships due to "educated" consumers refusing to join their sites!!!

SPREAD THE WORD - TO HELL WITH THIS KIND OF THIEVERY!!!!!
