Everything was working fine before a Windows update yesterday afternoon.
I'm running Windows XP and use Windows Media Player 10. Since the update whenever I attempt to view/download a .mpg file I am given an error.
For instance, going to this page: http://www.ddstarlets.net/a/89f/index23.html and clicking one of the movies, I am given an error and redirected to the Windows solution page:
Solution Found: Contact MainConcept AG to Purchase Retail Product
Problem Description
Thank you for submitting an error report. The error was likely caused by MPEG Encoder.
Problem Resolution
MPEG Encoder was created by MainConcept AG. The demo version of MPEG Encoder that you are currently using is not supported by MainConcept AG. MainConcept AG recommends that you purchase the full retail version of MPEG Encoder for increased stability and product support.
To purchase the full retail version of MPEG Encoder, use the following steps:
- Go to the MainConcept AG website at http://www.mainconcept.com/downloads.shtml#anchor
- Find MPEG Encoder and then install it.
If you want to remove this program, please click here for instructions.
Additional Information
- Microsoft did not create, nor does it provide technical support for MPEG Encoder.
- If you have trouble installing the new software, or the problem you reported persists, please contact MainConcept AG.
If I download the trial version of MPEG Encoder from MainConcept, I still cannot play the movie.
Does anyone have any suggestions and has anyone had similar problems?
Thanks,
Tom K.
