New featuTopic filter

There's a new feature called "topic filter" (beta). Actually it's a search, but it only retrieves topics by name... and don't wish to call it search, because it makes people confused (we already have one). It's currently enabled on every "visual forum", where people post galleries.

So if you remember your favorite models name, you can look it up quite easily - or just find out if it has been posted.

So... what do think about it? Should it stay or go?

First impression very good ! In some cases it even works better than standard searchtool.

Might be good to mention that it only works in the Forum section where you are at that moment.

So if you use it in Teens section it will only generate results from Teens.

You might have to use it in Archives, MILF's etc as well for tracking the right thread in case you do not find it in Teens.

One minor issue: in the filtered view, all threads are shown as unread.

Great - but the thanks go to you & other mods. The topic filter is only as good as the topic names are, and currently they are very informative.

I'll look into the filter later today, maybe it could be used to search multiple forums and even linked to "createpost" -page to check on new popup if the topic is already posted.

Actually thats one of the problems as well, having two searches. The standard search tool is great when looking for any keywords (like "sex", "naked" etc) but not so good when trying to find by model's name or just threads. It returns dublicates (many pages from same thread) and shows old data. The topic filter is the opposite.

It's quite a usability challange to educate people what search use and where... best case is that it wouldn't need to be mentioned. Have to think about how to archieve that.

That's one of the limitations atm... for performance reasons, the topic filter list isn't personalized. So the filter is good for checking if the thread exists, but not actually looking up if girl has new posts. Have to do some testing if the unread/read could be easily fixed without additional performance costs.

Other possible features

- paging
- seeing in advance how many results
- topic name suggestions when typing

The topic filter list is personalized now.  Thanks.

Another issue.  When I try to do repeated filter view, the forum parameter in the URL is left empty and the empty screen is shown.  When I remove the forum parameter manually, an error screen shows up.

Now fixed the filter on topic name filter page. Got broken when fixing another bug...

Keep the suggestions & bug reports coming!

I like it a lot....!!

One of the best innovations lately.

Maybe a more prominent place and/or a clear indication it is a search function i.o. to draw attention of those users, who do not read posts here, but only browse Teens/Milf/Archive sections.

Why not mention it Name/Topic Search Filter

Actually, the more I use it to find something I want... I've noticed I no longer use the searchtool. Most of I need is already found using the topic subject. Starting to wonder, if it makes sense to replace the top right corner search with "topic filter search" from all forums... or maybe not yet.

Of course we need to find something from posts as well, but I hate finding so many useless threads with Google-searchtool. When I've gathered some funds (this summer?) I might put some one-time xxxx$ to buy a new server so we can get our own search back online. Maybe until then, it's not a fair comparison.

A model might use many names and a particular one may not be in the thread title.  But that particular name can be in the title of a locked duplicate thread.  So it might be useful adding an option to include locked threads in the filtered search.

Yes - I'm actually planning to re-do the whole filtering box and add it to filtered -list as well. So the locked could be there, even if they usually are the last ones (since not so many views).

So there would be options

- last post date (to find latest MET-art topics, for example)

- Hide topics I've read (to find lastest unread MET-art topics etc)

- Participated (YES/NO, to find "my topics" in filtered list)

One of the biggest new feature will also be Tag Cloud, for the most search girls/sites/fetishes. I'll put that online later, when there are thousands of keywords entered.

Added a Tag Cloud to the Topic Filter.

Actually, that feature was already done month ago, but waited until there are hundreds of thousands of searches before making a Tag Cloud from the most popular ones.

Just to draw attention again to this excellent new feature.

It's a great new extra feature, in case you do not find what you are looking for with Peachy's SearchTool and/or GooglePeachySearch.

You will find the TopicNameFilter in the right upper corner of mainpages of each forum section.

Use it !  Thumbs up!
