1) Teens -forum is growing too large to browse , so I'm thinking about adding a new forum, to be placed between Teens and Milfs:

Name: "Pornstars"
Description: "22-30yo babes" 

2) Models -forum is non-intuitive and not needed: all the girls could be moved to Teens.

What do you think, would those major changes make PF more organized or just cause chaos?

I.m.o. it will cause chaos and confusion.  Line between models and pornstars very thin.  Most models are pornstars as well.

Why not just split Teen Section (11) in 2 sections.  New and old.  There are now 1506 pages in Teens.  My guess is that 50% of those pages could contain 'sleeping'  threads with no action since several years. Put those 'sleepers' eg. pre-2008 or pre-2007 in Old section and post-2008/post-2007 in New section.

Maybe also consider to remove all locked threads (must be hundreds) from forum 11, although locked threads sometimes serve a purpose with Peachy/Google search.

 

 

That is true - some models are also pornstars. When people post requests, they don't know if the girl is softcore model in the net or hardcore pornstar from magazines & videos => lots of confusion & maintenance work.

 However, for people only surfing it would seem more organized (girls considered cute models seperated from traditional hc babes/pornstars)...

Okey, so Teen Section (11) contains 380k posts. I could move all locked ones (30k threads) to a new sub-section, and they would still be seen  in Peachy/Google search (since the thread-pages do not include section id in the url). I think that could be done easily without problems. Almost 10% of threads cleaned.

Old/new. Again it would be more for requestors (members) then for surfers (anonymous). There should be a middle ground for both usage usage cases...

I for one think that a "Pornstars" section would be an excellent idea. Though perhaps to draw a clearer line between models and pornstars it might be called "Hardcore Models", ages 18 to 29(30). Containing only models who have done BG video or photo shoots? Personally I prefer hardcore vs. solo models, and have actually spent many clicks trying to figure out if the hot model in the thumb did HC or not.

On the other hand without some sort of penis recognition software (LMAO) we would have to manually move each HC thread one by one into the new forum. I'd be happy to spend thirty minutes to an hour a day doing that but it would still take quite a while wouldn't it?

Tracking and moving those threads is an almost impossible job.  Still today I find a lot of MILF/30+ threads in Teen Section.

If it is really necessary - like I wrote yesterday - I am still in favour of splitting up Teen section in 2 halfs based on posting time.

Before making any drastic moves we should maybe wait and see if it improves after locked threads (and possibly old 'sleeping' threads) have been set aside. Think that this can be done rather easily by putting those threads in a special (closed) sub-section.

I'm not a moderator, but as a long time member and poster, I think it would cause more confusion rather than solve it.  I like softcore more than hardcore, yet some of my favorite models (MET style) have done some HC.  Where would they be placed?  If most of their work is SC, but did some HC . . .??  It seems that Funkys' suggestion has merit, but then there are those rare models that haven't appeared for years then come back in a new site ie. Danielle C. from MET was gone but now came back as Kasana at ZEMANI.   A quandry for sure.  I hope this helps a little bit.

I think age is a very bad measure to categorize on.
What age are we measuring? Current age of model based on birthdate? Age at time of shoot? What about models with a long carreer? Or models with a short one, also spanning a boundary? (Say a model working from her 20th til 25th, in what section should she be?)

Wouldn't other, more permanent features be better to categorize on? Hair color? Body style? although these too are subject to change, dyed hair, boob job etc. so maybe that's not the best option either.

The problem with a classic category-based forum system is that a thread can only be in a single category.
Wouldn't a more modern, tag-based system be a better option? Threads can then be tagged with the appropriate categories that apply or applied to the model over her carreer, like age ranges ("teen" if she modeled in her teens, but also "milf" if she modeled post-30), body features ("hairy" if she did one or more hairy pussy shoots, "boob job" if she ever had one, "brunette", even if she dyed het hair blond later, in which case the "blond" tag also applies) and type of shoots she did (softcore, hardcore, lesbian, whatever applies).

This would require some additions and changes to the forum software, but looking at the innovative features peachyforum came up with in the past (automatic thread thumbnails, automatic galleries) the crew should be quite capable of implementing such a system.

What about making a separate model ID section?

it seems to me that Funkys idea would be the way to go. splitting it all up by age would be turning it into a theme and then should just go into the theme area. having a "dead thread" or "sleeping thread" area would clean up the Teen category right up.  also you could have a set amount of time that a thread stops getting post and it automatically goes to the "dead thread" area. im not sure if i made any sense or if its possible, but there's my thoughts.

I remember the old tagging system was a disaster because members tended to omit to many irrelevant tags. Perhaps a system could be set up so that only mods could add tags to "an entire topic" rather than each post. It would take a while but a decent tagging system could be implemented over time?

Also, the locked threads topic shouldn't be visible IMO, though I also don't believe they should get moved straight away. Having a locked forum would make peachy kinda, ugly.

and again, you don't have to be a mod to post here! We would love to hear your ideas and feedback.

Tagging per post would be a bad idea indeed, tagging per thread is what I was proposing.

Whether to let members do the tagging is debatable. I think letting mods do al the tagging would take too long and be incomplete and inprecise for thousands of threads not often visited by mods.

A better option would be to let mods define a limited set of relevant tags (as to not have a proliferation of irrelevant or almost-duplicate tags) and then let members apply these tags to threads, wiki-style.

Pornstar Forum should be done.  Limit to Video/Movie Pornstars like Jenna Jameson, Jenna Haze, etc., HC Only.  Teen HC girls should stay in teens.  My two cents

Yes, I sure would prefer Teen/Model be smaller.  Yes, already I do not always remember which forum invidual gals (whose threads I have not posted to myself) are in, but I don't mind occasionally having to look in a couple different places, as an alternative to Teen being even larger.  It seems to me that hardcore vs softcore would be the clearest split, and I find it sort of fun to discover a SC model has done HC unbeknownst to me, but I would appreciate any further splits.  I guess I'm known for my appreciation of redheads but even I often forget whether I have gals on my own computer stored under blonde, redhead, or brunette.  Nevertheless, unlike on the Internet Movie Database where finding that they have some film rated stupidly annoys me, I assure you that finding a model whom I think of as blonde is classified as a brunette at Peachy would not bother me a bit.  I sometimes ignore the lesbian material of a gal, and thus find it harder to think of gals as lesbo or not -- but maybe that's just me.

I am thankful that Peachy saves all those locked threads in the "hidden" subsection, as opposed to having simply deleted them all, as so many other (non-porn) BBSs do.

Tags: We could bring them back, certainly as something that could be selected (drop down menu etc) - not a text field. It takes some time to implement (make easy & fast), but we'll certainly do it. And thanks for other input as well, I'll go thru all posts when thinking what to do next!
