really strange how that happens. copy and pasted it and it worked, but clicking no way. happens at free*nes too. send in a bad lick note and they reject it.

It's not really that strange. When people post links that have extra characters (usually blank spaces), the link will not work, but copy-paste will. A hyperlink is assumed to be correct, but there is some flexibility built in for manually entered web addresses, so the space often will be ignored if the browser finds a site that matches everything except the space at the end. If you have restricted your browser's search-from-the-address-bar functionality, then you can copy-paste, but you need to remove the extra characters manually.
The real question is why this is happening all the time now? If it were all newbies that simply didn't know how to post links correctly (as I assumed at first) that would be one thing. But it seems to happen to a lot of links posted by longtime posters. So either these old-timers have finally reached dementia (possibly as a result of long-term suction of blood out of the brain in order to serve...other body parts), or there may a sporadic glitch in the html-wrapping code in the forum software that adds an extra space to coded links.
Of course, there will always be a handful of sites that block hotlinks, but most of the problems with links here are due to the extra space issue.
