Hi,

I was wondering how you guys are organising your links. Since I want my computer to be "clean", I have a *.txt file where I can copy&paste links to. It's easy to see that this isn't the most comfortable way, is it?
Let me know your ideas!

Much better to have *.doc files instead pure *.txt

That way, you can make hyperlinks out of them, directly clickable ...

depends on what you use it for. i have a 219 kb txt file of links (87 pages when opened in ms word) organized by site or theme, then by girl. i use ctrl-f to find the entries if i need to. on my slow comp notepad opens much faster than word, and anyway i don't need hyperlinks because if it's on my list, i've already saved the gallery. maybe there are better ways to keep track of hundreds upon hundreds of links, but this works fine for me. the key is how you organize it.

"Good old" NotePad still does the trick for me as well.

I use a .doc file too (just looked and it's up to 2MB/116 pages! Horrified )

I collect pictures of a lot of models so it just became essential to have everything in order... I put the girl's name as a heading in bold (arranged in alphabetical order), aliases (names she goes by on different sites), things like her peachythread link, profile/biography links etc, and finally a list of her galleries... those I've saved to computer are highlighted in light green, dead links highlighted in red etc. I also have separate sections for peachy Teen Themes threads, girls needing an ID, "to do" lists etc. Using CTRL F it's usually pretty easy to locate something I've filed away then, and better than cluttering up your Favourites folder with thousands of bookmarks!

Well, some of you already know my standard phrase :
"I know there is a thread of her, but..."

That's simply because I'm too lazy to copy links. Used a text file in the past, but that was before I started visiting forums at all, now Peachy is my reference. I only keep boomarks to TGPs etc, but in a different browser, other people who use my PC get a clean one Wink
On the other side, I'm spending a lot of time organizing the stuff on my disk. If a girl needs an ID, for example, I put her stuff in a special folder, if I lost interest, I put it in another, and so on.

A.f.a. getting organized with regard to Peachy, life seems to become a lot easier with the new feature of PeachyBasket  http://peachyforum.com/forums/thread/282308.aspx  and of course the new searchtool with the coming upgrade of CS software.   On other hand this has been promised already many times........   So, we have to see it first i.o. to believe it.

I use a combination of .xls [Microsoft Exel] ; .doc [Mirosoft Word] & .txt [Notepad] for lists, bookmarks & notes.

mentioned earlier in this thread that (old-school luddite that i am) i just use notepad. word/excel/etc takes up too much RAM for me while i'm surfing, and i like to keep my browser bookmarks nice and tidy, so notepad is how i roll.

however, i have several txt files for different purposes, one for current interests, one for my peachy index, one for my link collection, one for another forum i frequent, a few small txt files for various other concerns, etc.

i often find myself bouncing around between two or more of these txt files, and tonight i was thinking how nice it would be to have some lightweight software that allowed me to tab between these files. well, the freeware truth is out there....

testing out "EditPad Lite" right now. light on system resources and it automatically hotlinked all the URLs in my txt files (huge bonus!!! though double-clicking them opens new firefox windows instead of new tabs which i'd prefer).
http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/downloads/EditPad_Lite_12556_p/

there are other similar options around:

NoteTab Light seemed to have too much going on for what i needed, but it's maybe an interesting option if you're also looking for html-editing. not interested enough so i removed it.
http://www.notetab.com/ntl.php

LopeEdit Lite
http://www.download.com/LopeEdit-Lite/3000-10251_4-10496154.html
seems light and useful, though no auto-hotlinking. haven't removed it yet...

ExtremePad
http://www.exproductions.com/
seemed light and easy at first glance but after it opened multiple system tray icons and task manager processes i tossed it, especially after trying out EditPad Lite. may check it out again, may not. who knows.

maybe more choices out there too, would like to hear feedback from others who prefer "low-tech" organizing.

p.s. security footnote also should point out i've not checked any of these yet for adware and such. no great concern for me and i assumed these were safe downloads. but i do run adaware/spybot weekly or so. if i notice anything amiss i'll post it.

Google Notebook - Good for noteing down then sorting out latter
Google Bookmarks - Nicely tagged (Use Google tool bar for easy access)
Google Doc- Use preview to make the links easily clickable
Blogger - Why not shared all you links!
Google Reader - RSS your blog and pick them up in reader!

All store offline, nice and "clean"

Bit of a Google freak :)
