Photographer aliases page 1

When you're trying to cross-identify models across sites, it often helps to go by the photographer name because some models are more or less exclusively "owned" by one photographer. Of course, this is nowhere near a general rule, but where it is the case, it can help.

Trouble is, sites like Met, Femjoy, Amourangels, JTS often use different names for the same photographer. You can often see through the aliasing by considering the models they shoot. For example, I decided that Paromov @ Met and Den Rusoff @ JTS are one and the same by observing that all photo sets on Met with Luba C are by Paramov and all her sets on JTS are by Den Rusoff. If that was the case for just one model, it could be coincidence. But the same is true for Marina O/Mari, Ruslana B, Polina B, Sveta H, Tania C, Arina. By the same reasoning, Paramonov @ Domai and Den Russ @ AmourAngel are also the same.

Sometimes they are other clues, e.g. my already strong suspicion that Davy Moor @ JTS = Max Stan is confirmed by a couple of sets advertised under Davy Moor's name, but look more closely and you can see Max Stan's name in the filename.

Any further contributions greatly welcome...

Here's my current list:

Tkachev @ JTS = Skokov
Gorohoff Maxim @ JTS = Skokov
Alvi Mar @ JTS = Zesleder
Davy Moor @JTS = Max Stan
Alex Gradov @ JTS = Gribanov
Den Rusoff @ JTS = Paromov
Stewart Summer @JTS = Volkov

Thomas Nikolos @ JTS = Andrey Razin ?

Vic Truman @ Femjoy = Volkov
Sven Wildhan @ Femjoy = Goncharov ?
Oscar P @ Femjoy = Peter Porai-Koshits
Peter Olssen @ Femjoy = Voronin

Gorohov @ AA = Skokov
Den Russ @ AA = Paromov
Eric Grass @ AA = Volkov
Tkachev @ AA = Skokov

Mario Sala @ Met = Max Stan
André Le Favori @ Met = Andrey Razin

Glad to see another who is interested in details.

Here is a thread I wrote for another venue;

Not totally on message, but similar:

___________

-Is Alexander Voronin just an alias for Alexander Fedorov?
It is well known that Fedorov has had many problems with government trying to shut down his studio.
Shortly after Fedorov shut down From Russia With Love I noticed that ALL sets @ MetArt credited to Alexander Voronin had file names "AF"...not the AV were appended to the filenames BEFORE Fedorovs site went down.
Does anybody have any information about this musing?

A fellow collector added these observations:

Hmmm ... I have been wondering about Natasha Schon and Pasha @ met. Same person?

Same goes for Erro / Luca Helios who seem to shoot the same models (and simultaneously?)

_____________
Hmmm ... I have been wondering about Natasha Schon and Pasha @ met. Same person?
Same models, same style, Natasha is a female name, and Pasha could be either male or female. Might be a couple, like Richard and Nancy Murrian...

Edit: Most of Met-Art images have the EXIF stripped out, but I managed to find two sets (psh_108 and nt_10) from Pasha and Schon with the EXIF still intact, and they apparently used the same camera model. This doesn't prove anything, of course, but it does add a tiny bit of weight to the theory that they might be somehow related.

Not so sure about the Veronin-Fedorov connection.  I noticed the same thing, but there is way too much Veronin material that is just too diffrent from Fedorov's.  Maybe it just more of a proximity issue for these 2.

Side note:  Stan max = Max Asolo (?)

Ok, no new discussion ont it.  I may have been wrong about the lines, and the towel.  I forgot one thing:  A flash, a strobe -- something that freezes the model in the foreground while letting the background continue.   To be blunt, I am someone who want's to dicuss such things. I want to apply my nerdly power against this problem.   I know this is not the right forum, so can someone suggest where?

RIP Jaromir Plesko

Wouldn't have known about it except for this:  http://www.domai.com/news/2012/02february-03/index.html

Just thought I should mention it here.

You men seem pretty expert about cameramen--can someone help me with this question? In the 90s decade I bought many VCRs and DVDs from Promotions Inc. in Bowie, Maryland. The cameraman in most of them was about the best I've seen overall. He was tops in the technicals, but greatest talent was interviewing the model in the first 15 minutes in a way that revealed the appealing points of her personality & her charm, and made her feel at ease and look her best without intruding himself into the video. We never learned details of his life or job. He was polite and pleasant and welcoming, but anonymous, a model for other cam ops. Here are the clues: the studio was his own Greater L. A. house, ground floor w fireplace & french doors & pet black lab, back yard & shrubbery & long stone steps outside, and the most memorable feature--a big white astronomical telescope on a tripod in the living room. Who is Telescope Man? If I had his name I could recommend him to some of my favorite sites like AllOver30.

There are a few good reasons nude-art photographers use different nicks.

First, not all of them want their real name out in the open. Usually they have photography-based companies shooting weddings and special events, so they don't want to be related to anything that might even slightly be considered pornography.

Second, many sites had restrictions on the exclusive rights of the photographers works. If you sold to met then you could not sell elsewhere. So they used different nicks for different sites, and usually the names of the models were changed for the same reason. There are exceptions.. my friend Vlad Nikonoff from Kiev never accepted that mentallity, and has always ever only used his real name.

Some have gone on and now use the same nick. Example: Rylsky from met / metmodels has started Ryskyart instead of sending his sets to AA / Showybeauty as Rasputin.

In my opinion the days of disguise are gone and with the stiff competition everyone needs an excellent  reputation to continue business. Camouflage will never help that cause...

Mike.

Yeah. Could really embrass some of the local photog's and ladies, if I searched through my attic for stuff from the 70s/80s. Drum
