Our board software supported it for a while, then it got pulled back. However, it's said to come back in future releases...

It just occured to me after reading this : would it be possible that, after posting, you are sent to the last page of the thread instead of the first? Would also make posting quicker, at least if you like to check if everything worked.

omicron, are you even participating in the boards or did you come here simply to make suggestions?

It's not currently supported, but it would be nice.  It's been requested at CS.

The reply function of this board is as faster as any 'quick reply' of other boards ...

Tell us: would you reply more if you are offered with a 'quick reply' function? (tricky question ...). I personally don't think so ...

with quick reply you have more spam,
people will write
"cool girl"
"more"
"yeah"
"where's more"
"nice"
.
.
.
and less quality,
because if you have to click reply and wait a second for the box
you think more about your reply
instead simply writing trash into a box which is already there.

...shouldn't this only need changing one line of code? Or do you have to use the software as it is?

All thing that require only "changing one line of code" are the most dangerous ones... for example, changing that it would go to the last thread... there are dozens of usage cases for that one line (like: going to preview before posting, private messages etc), possible bugs that might appear immediatelly or just after a few months, and incompability with future releases (which is pain in the ass, there are many custom mods even now and the new version 1.1 is out - will require MONTHS of fixing to get them work in the new release + tested).
