What about a Test-Forum?

-- Edited: Discovered an interesting feature of new forum software, it is possible to add polls to existing threads.

-- Edited2: Trying if it's also possible to remove polls (for e.g. when they have expired) and add another.

-- Edited3: Works fine!

-- Edited4: Does not delete the old votes, workaround is to delete the old answers first before removing the poll and adding a new one. But I think it's better not to remove old and add new polls, I suspect that this feature is not tested very well.

-- Edited5: Workaround does not delete the old votes entirely, as already said, I think it's better not to remove polls and add new ones ot a thread.

I tried & it worked... after clicking "Yes" the number of votes changed from "1" to "2" and the bar after "Yes" changed to green (to show how many "Yes" - answers). In addition, the "vote" button is gone so I cannot vote anymore.

If I remember right Lou, you're using an exotic browser like Opera...?

btw. Nice find, mrspock! I just wonder why people haven't noticed it earlier... maybe we got so tired with voting when at one time there were too many polls...

Well, my count did add up as it should.

In any casy with this kind of silly piffle you have pushed your count. It's quality that counts, not quantity.

You might have pressed "Yes" at the same time as I did... since there are only 2 votes, and in admin panel report shows:

Vatsis Vatsis
Wow, that's pretty cool!

So... even if lou didn't notice his vote getting thru, it was registered, but yours wasn't (and no vote from mrspock either even I do suppose he used his own poll)?

Strange...

Because only one poll per thread is possible I tried to test if it's possible to replace an old expired poll with a new one. I tried to find out what happens to the votes when I edit the post and remove the entire poll or choices. That the the votes from earlier poll got deleted was intended: You don't want the votes from an earlier poll counted in the new poll, of course. My vote and possibly other votes made during this test got deleted. I'll vote again now, my vote should show up in your admin panel vatsis.

You're right lou, the software lets me vote and I can see the increased number of votes but when I reload the thread my vote is gone. Now I tried to vote for the second choice and it worked. It seems that the thread is corrupted due my experiments. I assume adding a poll to an existing thread works but it's better not to replace an earlier poll. I'll add a poll to http://peachyforum.com/forums/thread/236271.aspx let's see if we get the same problems, please vote!
