Help, most of the WMFs I am downloading won't work with my Windows Media Player! (Error "C00D0FCB"). This is Windows XP SP 1 with Media Player 9 and all latest hotfixes. I also downloaded every codec I could find (all DIVX, etc.)... but no luck! Does this sound familiar to anybody?

Huh, I searched for error "C00D0FCB" but didn't find it on WMP error page. Is this error code correct?

Assuming it is the correct error code, chances are that it's not a big enough problem to warrant a fix on the WMP site (not many people have had the error yet). What's worked for me in the past is to remove and reinstall WMP. I’d also recommend removing the codecs you’ve installed (having more codecs than you need typically gives you more problems down the line).

lol :-)

yes, thats the error code I receive when clicking on details. Another strange behavior is that with some movies first they show a black picture, when I stop them once or twice I receive an error again but after the third or so start it finally shows...

I guess I will try reinstalling the media player then (thanks for the hint). But: which codecs *should* I have installed (so far I installed various divX's and the nimo package)

Ok, thanks for that link. I just found this answer to someones question about the error...

Error C00D0FCB is "Windows media player cannot play the selected file because it is either damaged or corrupt" I would suggest re-obtaining the file in question."

You should be ok with the amount of codecs you've installed. I typically will only install them if WMP isn't unable to get them for me automatically.
