we lost Don Knotts and also one of my old-time faves, Darren McGavin.

I enjoyed all his roles as much as his last big part as the Dad in
"A Christmas Story".
I even played him as 'Kolchak, the Night Stalker' in a public school play.

thanks for the respect!.. i'm surprised no one has posted. maybe not too many know him as we do . kolchak the night stalker, was the x-files before the x-files was the x-files. he even played a "kolchak" type in one episoid of x-files. and he was great in "the christmas story" (my all time fave christmas movie) he will be missed.

I remember him as a great character actor....the kind of guy you see in a hundred things but his name is foggy. I knew his name from alot of the things for TV he had done in the 60's and 70's. He was even on Murphy Brown for awhile. Like Lance says.....thanks for the respect.

Was not going to start a new thread for this but you know how they say things come in threes. Don Knotts...Darren McGavin....Dennis Weaver. Three older actors, all first names begin with D, dying in a 5 day span. Take Care, McCloud, you was a good man.

Amen to Raven.  Three on a match.  A loss to all TV addicts - especially "classic" TV.
