OK...So I have decided to sort my porn. I am looking at a 1.5tb volume of files. To this point I have been using ACDSee to do the job. The problem is I have to use the damn keyboard to add the prefix I want before the name of the file. Example am-brn-cum-xxx.(jpg or bmp). The file is an Amateur brunette that takes cum...Is there a program that I can make a set list of text that I can choose from the right click of a PC...if there is a solution for a Mac, that would do too. The main sorting will be preformed by a Mac OS X Server. I have writen a script that looks for the prefix and will move that file to the correct folder(folder name "am-brn-cum"). iPhoto does not cut it for sorting. ACDSee runs like crap on a Mac (hopefully better once it goes Universal and can run on the new intel processors).

So how do you sort your Porn???

Sorry mate, this isn't gonna be any help to you with your sorting, but for how I sort it, I do into certain folders as I download. I have folder names for the model, then sub-folder for site, and a further sub-folder for set name (or a number '001','002' etc if unknown). Also have folders for sites if the model is unknown, or for models I'm not trying to find more sets of. Don't have to worry about renaming files then, and it keeps them as the original name for if I find more photos/vids for an incomplete set. I always download with GetRight or NeoDownloader, obviously to queue stuff, but also so I can sort it into the separate folders before downloading (or I use Magpie for imagevenue etc). I used to just download to one folder, or start a new one every so often, but when coming to sorting and/or renaming, I would use ACDSee, and it took f**kin ages to do manually. I still use ACDSee if I'm downloading pics from one set from multiple galleries with different file names, but I try to sort it straight away before I forget about it.

In my opinion the best resolution is to just be more selective. Simply delete everything that's only average to your liking and keep your precious harddrive space for the stuff that you really find interesting.

I hardly ever go for these big 100+pics sets. Preferably I stick with smaller preview sets or maybe a single pic from an entire set. I found no use in having an immense load of pictures because I would never view all those pictures and I even wouldn'r recall pictures that I owned. So now I maintain a folder with my favourite girls, where each folder includes only the best material I came across and apart from that only a relatively small collection of other small sets and a big folder with some randomly collected Images.

For movies I found the best way to keep track of things to simply burn them to DVD's while keeping jpg screenshots on my HD. ImageGrabber II works very well for that purpose! (google)

It's more fun being selective and it saves a lot of diskspace for other things!

If you know anything about html, you can easily put together an offline index of your content. A bit time consuming but worth it IMO. And image Grabber 2 (mentioned above) is a handy tool for making it happen.

I'm always sorting and resorting my porn collection. I use Picassa (free from Google) rather than Windows as this allows you to create a number of themed albums. Thus all my pictures are now in just one folder called "Pictures" and I no longer have to worry where to file, say, a picure of a black, teenage, lesbian amateur! The same picture can be in albums called: "Black", "Teen", "Lesbian" and "Amateur".

I agree. I have a large collection of mostly content from paysites. The idea of having collected every single gallery was nice, but I started to delete the galleries I didn't feel watching anymore. But that wasn't enough to be able to enjoy a lot in a short time, so I started to make BEST OF folders, like this Themes / Fetishes forum. To watch galleries I use in ThumbsPlus, and with help of Hot Keyboard Pro. I only have to use the UP-key (works during a full screen slideshow) and the picture will be copied or moved to my best of folder. 

Sites that are relatively small and can fit on 1 or 2 dvd's I burn them, because I payed for the content and like to keep it somehow. But even then it stays quickly accessible. And I will still have my best of version on my HD for quick fix :) 

I found out what CVS is on wiki. Does anyone have a link or info about how to get cvs started?

I'm in the *be more selective* camp too. I cherry-pick the best stuff and delete the rest when I get complete sets. I guess I have around 150 folders or so of different girls. Frankly, most of the pics in most sets seem like filler to me anyway. For example, my Jordan Capri folder probably has about 100 or so pics, and she's a favorite. No point in saving a bunch of shit you'll never look at. Just my opinion...
