Probably many of you already know it but if not there is a program called "bulk image downloader" that is incredible useful to get entire galleries, even those hosted in JS sites like imagevenue or imageshack.
The prog (as freeware) can retrieve and download a 200 pic gallery in a couple of minutes.

  Yup I already have it, nice program. But as “freeware” you can only download 60 pics at a time. Still can’t complain though.

That limit is only with images hosted in imagefap, for the rest of the host the limit as freeware is 200 pics, from the author:

"Limitations in the unregistered free version: No more than 2 simultaneous downloads, a maximum of 200 images per batch (60 for ImageFap), no more than 2 instances of the application may be active, and no more than 2 jobs in the queue manager."

I tested it with large galleries of zuza kourilova at http://urmel.sultryserver.com/zuzka.html and also with HQ galleries of katie fey on imagevenue and it worked perfect.

I use a tool called DownloadThemAll - a plug-in for the Mozilla browser. It is actually integrated into the browser and there is no download limit. The browser is free and so is the plug-in. Both are available at the Mozilla Web site.

I also have been using DownloadThemAll for long time but didn't work for me at time to retrieve big pictures behind js or dynamic galleries, neither when there is more than 2 levels of deep (thumb=>resized=>big picture).

    Does it work with Macs and Firefox combination?  The site doesn't say.

If you refer to DownloadThemAll probably yes, if you refer to Bulk Image Downloader (program + firefox plugin) I think no, at least in softpedia appear like only for Windows systems (http://www.softpedia.com/get/Internet/Download-Managers/Bulk-Image-Downloader.shtml)

I used to use it but it only retrieve common html galleries, besides since v1.2 isn't free anymore although v1.1 is still available for free.
Anyway v1.1 is very useful since allow you to download all kind of files from html pages, you just have to set the extension of the desire files, the depth and rule of the search and it's done.
