Users can't create new forum accounts. page 1

Just got a message from a friend who has tried to create an account on Peachyforum. Basically, new accounts can't be properly created on here. My friend tried creating an account and entered a Username, Password and his email address. In the next screen, he got a message saying 'A link has been sent to your email with a temporary password'. (What's the point of a temporary password when he just entered his desired one on the previous screen?). But it doesn't matter, because the link never arrives, even when he tried to reset his password. Still no email. He can't log in. Just another thing broken on Peachyforum. Will this be fixed?

Hi 7Taffy. Copy this and send to one of the mods, quickest way to a fix. drum

Hi drumaster. I was hoping for more visibility with this thread because I have tried messaging both markd88 with a different query and I have messaged Vatsis in the past. Neither of them have ever bothered to respond.

Ask your friend to check his trashbin. Also let me know the username, I can check why the email couldn't be sent (if there were errors) and if his email address is OK.

Sorry if missed some of your messages - but I get a few hundred emails / day... start only with the most urgent ones, others just get buried. :(

7Taffy, next time drop me a line. I check PM's daily so you WILL get a reply. However, for a problem like this the most that I could have done, was to drop a thread in the mod forum and waited for Vatsis to responde. As, he is the only one who can sort out this sort of issue. And, it appears he's working on it ;)

Hi there Vatsis. His username is ***** and I think he created his account early this morning. He said there was no email either direct to his inbox or to his spam folder. He tried the password reset function by entering his email (which was recognised) but still no message. Thanks for the help.

And Hunter27, sure I will try that. I'll send you a message now with a different query.

I see, the email service he's using uses automatic spam filtering, but good if he checked the spam folder already. I see from logs that the email hasn't generated any errors (the email service is very popular and definitely working). All I can suggest atm is to wait for a few hours and check general & spam folder again.

Got a message from him a little while ago. He tried doing another password reset and the email finally came about 20 minutes later (not to spam filter but straight to inbox) so he is able to access his account. All's well that ends well. By the way, not sure what else you've done to Peachyforum but I have found recently that it is alot faster than usual and the thumbnail galleries load up very quickly. The favourites features, with the ability to 'like' a post is also excellent and works very well.

That's great - sort of. Still testing how long it takes to get emails for other email providers.

About the performance - always doing some modifications, aiming for top speed for both US & EU.

I'll give you some additional feedback here too. I used to try and access Peachyforum on an admittedly old iPhone and it was very slow and clunky. I recently upgraded to an Android phone (4.2) and it's blazing fast and the galleries load up very fine too. For me, at least, it is very efficient with Android.
