I knew I had seen this place many years ago on TV, it just took me a while to think of the search terms:

experimental community

Arcosanti

Actually 2 places in the same country used to narrow down your search

Lüderitz (Namibia)   http://www.pbase.com/bauer/art_nouveau_namibia

(Not sure what you meant with 2 places...  The second place looks like one of the dozens of diamondmines)

Thumbs up! Right on, Funky...BTW, both Canyon-desert areas are of this place

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fish_River_Canyon

I was only going to post the town pic but thought it might be too hard for some by itself.

Did you go from the German on that building >> dry place >> African colony, etc...?

Or is this yet another place that has known the Funky footprint? Worship

I asked myself, what kind of building typically has several lower levels all lit up, even at night?

So I searched for "blue light library" and found this:

The National Library of Belarus (Minsk)

As a matter of fact I'm lover all things ArtNouveau or Jugendstil.  You should see my home....  So I recognized Lüderitz at once, although its architecture is not really pure Art Nouveau.

@ Tumulpi   Sorry, if I offended you.  But it became custom in this thread that the one giving the right answer puts up the next challenge.

That's great. To me, I think the best clues to choose are ones that result in someone using their own experiences, background, or interests in solving. It's late here, so if you'd like to pick in my place, you can. Otherwise, I'll put something up within the hour. I'll check back then and see your answer...

OK, I guess you're busy, so here goes...
