is it normal that in firefox the tabs for peachythreads reload around every 5 seconds.
My monitor is blinking all the time, it needs bandwith.
I think its no feature, or is this an error at my site.
Every 20 seconds or so would be enough.
I cant concentrate, with all this popping tabs!

It only reloads the chatbox - which can be closed by pressing 'x' -box. It will then stay closed from page to page.

I'm still experimenting what are the best pages to keep the chatbox... at the moment, i'm thinking about removing it from some of the pages.

No prob, nobody should be afraid to ask & post suggestions - it's the only way to find the bugs & to improve.

It doesn't stay closed if you open a new tab.  With 5-6 tabs open, all refreshing every few seconds, it slows my browser down to a crawl.

Would it be possible to include an option in the control pannel to turn off the chat box permanently?  As it stands, it's impossible to browse the forum with firefox and multiple tabs.

I use chat in fullscreen only. So the solution I'm currently using is putting the non-fullscreen shoutbox url into the ad filter, http://bbs.peachy18.com/shoutbox/shoutbox.asp*.

Thanks Evoo for the tip, I was also trying to figure out a way to do that.

for FireFox, install this free Extension (Adblock)

Once you do that and restart FireFox, Adblock will appear in the lower right hand corner of FireFox, click on it and add this line to the filter.

Hi,

I am using Win XP, Norton Internet Security 2005 and Opera 7.54. What can I do?

I think an option in the control pannel to turn off the chat box permanently is the best solution and it saves server power!

Thanx

PS: I will stay with Opera!
