Making your URL's clickable:

1.  All links starting with http:// will automatically become hyperlinked for the majority of members.  Just Paste the link into your post and the rest will be taken care of.
See Vatsis' Post here

Note:  Make sure you click enter after each link, otherwise your links / text will merge making the first link bad:
Example1:  http://www.peachy18.com/  ; http://www.peachy18.com/
Example2:  http://www.peachy18.com/  ; peachy
-you can avoid this and have links / text together with BBCode.

2.  If this does not work for you and your links look something like:   4 below.

3.  If you don't want to copy / paste links already posted by someone else be sure to use Vatsis' GrabLinks tool that is above every thread.  This tool will open a new page with only the links and will make them clickable.  This is also a great way of figuring out if the link you've found has already been posted. (This tool may not always be available)

If you still can't get your URL's clickable with the above help, then do this (should work for everyone)

4.  Use URL code in your posts.  Examples a and b below show the results of the the code, use the attached image (below) to see the actual code.

a) Making a link clickable
http://www.peachy18.com

b) Make text clickable to a link

Putting images in your posts:

There are three ways you can put an image in your post.

1.
  Using IMG code.
Use this option to attach images and smilies to your posts.  View the code.

ex1:

2.  Using IMG and URL code to make a picture clickable.
Use this option to make a thumbnail clickable to a full sized picture or to a picture gallery.  View the code.

ex2:

3.  Using the Attachment tool to upload a single picture.  This tool is right below your reply box.  Just click browse to attach your file and then hit post.
Notes:
-Do not use the "preview" option when attaching a image.  Doing so will remove the image from your post.
-Attachment size is currently set at 80KB
-File types: jpg; gif; png; mpg; mpeg; avi; wmv; wma; mp3; ra; rm; txt
-You may remove / replace any attached file via editing your own post.
-Please do not upload a full gallery via this method.  Not everyone has a fast internet  connection, and you'd have to make separate posts for each picture.  It would be a shame if we had to reduce / restrict the use of this tool.

For larger files you can also host your pictures on free picture hosting sites (example here) If you use this option, please use their "thumbnail" option to extend the life of your upload and for our members with slower connections.

Editing your own post:

Simply click "edit" on your post and make the necessary changes.

If you're getting errors or having problems then look here for a solution.

Remove / Replace your Attachment:

After clicking on "edit" you will see the "delete attachment" option pictured below.  Click on that box and your old attachment will be removed, once the screen refreshes the attachment box will reappear should you want to put a new one in its place.

About the Preview Pictures (seen below)

The Preview pictures are automatically generated.  The tool looks at the first URL in the first post of a thread.  If it can, it then makes a small picture of the first thumbnailed picture posted in that URL for use on the bbs.

You won't know for sure if your gallery will produce a preview picture until you post your thread, but here are some tips to better your odds:

-Make sure the first URL has a full gallery of pictures.
-When you look at the first thumbnail, make sure the link goes to "...picture01.jpg"  (not ...picture01.html"

-If you only post a image via the attachment tool or the first URL takes you to a single picture, no preview picture or "link" picture will be shown (see below).

-If your link doesn't produce a preview picture you'll see       If this happens, edit your post and put a different link first.

Private Messages (PM's)

Currently you have to check you mailbox to see if you have any messages from other members.  Eventually the software developers will make it easier to see if you have new PM's.

But until then, here's how you check your PM's...
-
on the bbs main page click on Private Messages.

or use this direct link

To PM someone, simply click on this image , which is located below everyone's Avatar.

The Report Tool

The report tool is now working, please use it to help us keep peachy clean of:

SPAM / UNDERAGE GIRLS / DANGEROUS LINKS / ETC

What is it?
It's a way for you to let the Moderators know of a bad / inappropriate post.  It's located on every post, in the bottom right hand corner ( Report ).  Reports are confidential, only the Moderators will know who makes them.

How do I use it?
Simply click on the Report link of the bad post.  Then Type in a subject (i.e. bad link), and in the body of the report a reason (i.e. link www.zzz.com has a virus).

The report tool will automatically give us the link to the bad post, who made it, and when, so don't worry about adding anything else.

After you hit post, you will be returned to the thread you made the report from.

If we have a question about your report, we will contact you via PM.

What should the report tool be used for?
Anything that breaks the bbs rules.
Most importantly: SPAM / UNDERAGE GIRLS / DANGEROUS LINKS

What should the report tool NOT be used for?
The report tool should not be use for new reposts.  Reposts are typically locked within a day of the girls correct thread being identified.  If it is not locked after a week or so, then you may let us know via this tool.

Thanks for you help in keeping Peachy safe

Searching The Forum: General Principles

What would appear on the page I'm looking for?
For all search engines in general, you must keep in mind it is a pattern matching program. It does not read your mind and figure out what you want. When you choose keywords, don't ask yourself "What am I looking for?". You should ask yourself "What would appear on the page I'm looking for?".

Specific to General
To reduce the number of search results you need to look through, start your search with specific search terms, and move towards general search terms. If you get zero results, you were too specific. If you get many pages of results, you were too general. Specific or unique search terms would be found mostly in the thread you're searching for. General search terms would appear on the thread you're searching for, but also on many other threads.

PeachyBBS Searchtool
This is one of the best ways to find a thread. To make the most of it, there are some helpful rules you should know.
  • At least one keyword must be longer than 2 characters
  • Separator characters include - / \ . : and space
  • You cannot search within "words" (the text inbetween separators)
  • Capitalization doesn't matter

Thus, pics-03/a/index.html is five "words". If you were searching, any of the keywords pics, index, or html will find it. The keywords 03 and a cannot be used alone, but you can use them together with any of the other keywords.

Underscore _ is not a separator, so hi_how_are_you is considered one "word". You can only find this in a thread by searching the entire hi_how_are_you.

Separators are not searched, only "words". If a thread had www.peachy18.com in it, www peachy18 com or www-peachy18.com or www/peachy18/com will return the same search results.

Note: In the search results page, your keywords are highlighted in bold. Highlighting does not work like search does. It cares about separator characters. It also looks within words.

    Searching The Forum: A Guide

    Knowing the Girl's Name(s)
Threads on peachy are more or less organized by the girl's name(s), and the site(s) she is from.

Searching the girl's name with the site name would be most specific. If you couldn't find her thread, search just the girl's name. If you still couldn't find her thread, search just the name of the site and prepare to browse many threads. In the search results page, you can click More ... on a particular result to show the whole post. This is quicker than going to the actual thread.

Some names have alternate spellings; try as many as you know. You can also search for aliases through other sites. Web Searching Tips

Site names can be abbreviated. Try both long and short forms.

    Searching with URL(s)
Using URLs or parts of a URL as a search term works because URLs are posted in the threads.

Sometimes the same gallery can have slight variations in the URL. In these cases, searching the entire URL may not be useful.
  • Ignore the filename, they are not necessarily specific to the gallery.
  • Deeper directories are more specific.

Again, a web search can find more galleries, which means more URLs to search with.

    Examining your URL(s) for clues
A URL of a gallery provides you not only with keywords. Valuable clues can be found, such as:
  • Name of girl/site within the images
  • Name of girl/site in the gallery page
  • Name of girl/site, or an abbreviation, in the URL

    Using Outside Resources
It is usually quite easy to find the name of the site of a particular gallery. Just look at the advertising. If knowing only the name of the site was not enough to find her thread, you can use resources outside of peachy to try and find the girl's name or more galleries.

Some sites have model listings or indexes that are free to browse. If not, they may list updates or have a free tour. These are good places to look for the girl's name.

Indexes can be found in other places too. See Paysite Previews!

There's nothing magical about searching for a thread. No one recognizes every girl on the net...afaik ;) Some basic knowledge of how things operate and hunting for clues will get you far. Happy hunting! :)

    Searching The Forum: Live Demonstration

Some people learn better by doing rather than reading. However, I can only offer reading someone doing. ;)

    So you've found a gallery...
Say, for example, you've found http://www.porn-picture-xxx.com/gals/teens/7d/0402/zilla.html and you know nothing else. (I grabbed this URL from the other tips thread. :) )

First, you ignore the filename. http://www.porn-picture-xxx.com/gals/teens/7d/0402/zilla.html works as much as the one above, and it might have been the shorter URL that was posted.

Now, you can decide what type of approach to take. Sometimes one approach works better than the other.

For a URL approach, you now choose keywords to search for. 0402 is a good one because it's rather unique, as well as being deep in the site structure. Search 0402. There are other URLs with 0402 in it so you may want to include gals or teens or both. Search 0402 gals teens. You've now located her thread. :)

For a clues approach, look at the images. You find Daisy and www.702daisy.com. Looking at the gallery page further confirms this. The page says 702Daisy as well as having a banner for her site. (Take notice that the 7d in the URL is an abbreviation.) Fortunately Daisy is actually her name, but sometimes the information on the page is false. Daisy is a rather common name, so you search for 702daisy first. Obviously, www and com are ignored for being too general. Search 702daisy. You've found her thread. Now suppose you did not. You should now try 702 daisy just in case the thread has been named like that. Search 702 daisy.

Sometimes the gallery page has no clues and the images often have none either. You can look at the URL for clues. Of all the words in it, nothing is really descriptive except for perhaps zilla. It is a weird name, but it could possibly be it. Search zilla. It does not seem like Zilla is her name. While in this particular case you will find her thread after browsing a couple pages of results, it would not be one of the first searches to try.

There was no need in this case to search the web. But some options may have been visiting 702daisy.com, googling 702daisy, googling the URL, looking for 702daisy on a TGP index, etc.
