Just found this forum through an affiliate and it seemed a reasonable place to check out, saw this section and thought brilliant - just what I've been looking for.
I just upgraded from win XP to Win7 Home Premium 64bit. My problem now is that nomather what browser I use (IE, Opera, Firefox or Chrome) the browser will sometimes freeze for ages and it sounds like the hard drive or pc is working occasionally. (Get a rythmic sound coming from the pc, with a short sound, then a long absence, then short sound, then long absence etc). Sometimes the problem works itself out and the browser starts working again, sometimes I have to close it through task manager and sometimes it just freezes everything and I have to click the reboot button.
If I use 2 browsers at the same time, say Firefox and opera then both will freeze at the exact same time.
I have tried to disable all anti virus and firewalls, it did no good. I have tried to close all unneeded processes, it also did not make a difference.
I also can not say if it is due to any specific scripts running, it seems to happen regardless of me browsing a forum with just text, reading the newspaper or streaming movies.
Normally I'd try to figure a thing like this out for myself but now I am just completely stumped, I just have no ideas left.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
