Not intended to steal away the glory from mike_op18's ingenious topic The Dutch Sunny South Coast Thread . It reminded me of finer times and the "rarer" community. The lost chat and sense of friendships that came with it.

I'd like to welcome lochsa9, gf-is-working, and CamilleC into the folds. We are the 1% lol, of the hundreds of thousands of people that lurk here just for the pics. Hopefully the other 99% doesn't rise up and revolt against us.

Anyhow, I got to thinking, chat is nothing more than a glorified "thread". So, why not just make a chat/thread. Using a combination of refresh and the quick reply box, a thread could very well become a live chat.

That said, talk about whatever the fuck you want here. Who knows maybe this will work.

'Live' chat via posts really doesn't work. It's a shame Peachy doesn't have a chat anymore like when Kari Sweets was there and took some pics for us all. Miss those days.
Miss those days.
Me too....

There is chatroom software available supported by our forum software (Telligent/CommunityServer)

http://cutesoft.net/ASP.NET+Chat

Chatroom can even be moderated. This was one of the reasons - apart from server capacity - to close earlier chatrooms b.o. abuse by some assholes. Think that a chatroom with Peachy should only be accessible for logged-in members.  I.o. to save server capacity maybe Peachy searchtools only to be used by logged-in members as well. Most forums like ours have this policy.

But..... there's only one who will have the final say in this....

Hmm... yes, making it for members only & if the chatroom would be open at specific time (a counter to open time on the frontpage) it would be cool. On those times (a few hours) I could moderate it and also there would not be a problem people checking in/out to an empty room. Also news about some models being available would be excellent, since they would be guest-stars for that day of the week.

Or if we don't have enough mods, there should be a feature to report a misbehaving member with a chatlog... enough reports for one member => ban.

I'll certainly think about it - server capacity is no longer a problem, but there are other things as well to solve.

Holy balls. I just got a mention from a mod. Kindly let me process this before I type anything else. (Currently thinking of a topic worthy of adding to this thread.)

I have several topics that are competing with my current brain space, so here's the easy one:

AN OPEN NOTE TO CAMILLE CRIMSON:
http://peachyforum.com/t/camille-crimson-334396.aspx

Dear Camille:

I love that you post here, and not just at your thread... you read the General Chat threads as well. It seems like an obvious effort for anyone in the industry, but it rarely happens, on any site.

I would like to humbly request that you post a nude full-body pic for us. Or maybe a few. I'm talking about face, boobs, hips, legs... all in one shot. I understand that your niche requires a lot of close-ups of your face, but I have to think that more Peachy fans aside from me want to see what you look like on a grander scale.

Your first Peachy pic from August 30, 2011 is the closest I've found from you that is close to what I'm talking about. The only problem with that pic is that you're still covered. Yeah, I've been to your blog. Couldn't find anything there, either.

Looking forward to anything, if possible.

Thank you,
gf-is-working

Hi Vatsis. Yes, on the old chat we used to get the odd 'idiot', as I recall we just used to tell them to behave, or log out for a short while in the hope they would go away, worked most of the time........(thinks?) on my old puter got a list of IP address's of some persistent ones, DrumCool

@Hunter: I guess missing my old chat buddies from Peachy was one of the reasons I started the Dutch Sunny South Coast Thread. I want a way to communicate loosely without a topic, but without having to be on line all the time.

The bad thing about chatboxes (apart from the assholes) is that hardly anyone stays there long enough to make contact and have a decent conversation.

I still wonder what happened to some of the old school?

Mike.

My two cents (or my .015 Euros):

I can't imagine chat working. No one is available at the same time, and appointment-typing would seem as odd as giving a grandmother a sponge bath. Plus, I'm a writer, so I tend to slightly agonize over my wording; chat has never been my strong-point. On the other hand, a chat-thread allows everyone to add thoughts when they want, and keep all the random thoughts away from the threads with singular topics.

As it was cyber-chat really, no-one has to stay there until someone replies. You just dump your thing, then next time you're around go back and check if someone replied. Kinda like this thread really. It is however great when you do get to talk to someone in real time. Just met my old friend Gemini37 in a chatbox on another forum. Old times back.

There's my farthing

Mike.
