I know it sucks for Boston fans and it looks one-sided from the surface but........Nomar turned down a 5 year - $60 million contract last winter to stay with the Sox . He was unhappy at best all season and not to mention his achilles injury that went from 1 week to almost half the season . He was 100% going to leave after the season anyways and as a free agent , the Red Sox would have got nothing for him . So they rolled the dice and got a solid , reliable SS in Cabrera who has some power , and a much needed defensive 1B in Mientkiewicz . So all in all the Sox decided to get at least something for Nomar and in the process freed up alot of cap space to get some free agents in the off-season . Cubs fans should be ecstatic because the Cubs , although 11 back of the Cardinals are still in a good position to nab a Wild Card berth in the playoffs and with Nomar hopefully returning to form , this should put them over the top . A sad day for Boston but in the end I think this will turn out to be a positive .

Look what happened with Texas. They got rid of a-rod and went from last to tied for first. Just goes to show that the big names don't always help you win.

The Sox also landed Dave Roberts from the Dodgers who has major speed on the bases which they needed , and can cover alot of ground in the outfield . I predict that Orlando Cabrera will have a huge rest-of-season in Boston since he will be amped up by the sell-out crowds , and he is due to come out of his slump any time now . I think this trade was actually a good move by Boston considering all the factors involved .

Reporting LIVE from Fenway Park in Boston , this is Fucktard Johnson....back to you scarface.

Well thank you Fucktard, Getting back to Nomar for a sec, I remember in the off season when they tried to trade him along with Manny Ramirez for A-Rod. From that time Nomar was very unhappy with the deal and has kinda taken it out on the Redsox organization. I think this trade takes Nomar to a better enviroment where he can start over and rejuvinate his enthusiasm for the game. The only thing about this trade I didn't like was they only worked on the defense for Derek Lowe. who was supposed to be traded along with Nomar but the deal never went any further. Lets just hope these new guys that we picked up for Nomar work out in the line-up not just on defense but on offence too.

This is scarface saying we'll be back with more on the Nomar trade after these messages from your local sponsors......

Thanks FT and Scar... and now for tonight's sports...
I'm a Baltimoron and I know the orioles suck, I also hate the Yankees, but if the Bosox had the same 11-2 record against the O's as the Yanks, they would only be 3 1/2 games back. As much as I hate to say it.........
Hey New England!!

Who's Nomar????

Oh No He Ditn't

He's a professional baseball player for the Boston Redsox.....

Basicly he was drafted by the Redsox, went through the whole system in Boston(Minor leages) and was an Allstar most of the years he was playing for Boston. Meaning he was very well loved and respected in Boston not just by sports fans but also the boston people that he would do charity work for.

Actually yes I have been there.
Last Year Friday August 22nd 2003 7:05pm Game 62 VS. The Seattle Mariners Bleacher Seats still have the ticket too....My First Baseball Game Too
And I caught a Manny Ramirez Homerun ball, I ended up giving the ball to a little boy that asked me for it. To top it off the Redsox creamed them in that game

Not sure if you're paying much attention , but the Cubbies have an excellent shot at a wildcard . And if they do get one , with their pitching and strengthened roster , especially their bench , they have probably their best shot ever to finally end this God-forsaken curse . And I still can't get over the fact that Scar went to his first baseball game in 2003

From the retard "seats" on Waveland Avenue , this is Fucktard Johnson saying PLEASE....back to you Kate .

We'll probably play our way out of the wildcard race. It's our unfortunate destiny. Look at the end of the season last year. Five outs away from the World Series, and sudden implosion
