Rule 34

I've been wondering this for years. According to Rule 34, there's pornography for everything - examples include the Smurfs, 9/11, and Cream of Wheat Cereal - but is there a kind of pornography where people are shown expressing intimacy and caring for one another? In other words, they aren't merely engaged in animalistic sex, but they seem to have a genuine relationship? I suspect it's the one exception to the Rule. If this is a genre, does it have a name?

Good luck!

Fantasy sex?

I think the closest you will come to finding something like this is in an instructional sex video.

Intimacy/love/etc. is not something that can be shown in a picture or video. Well ... I suppose there are some artsy ways to depict such, but there is no way of realy doing so without personally being there. One could tape two folks very much in love having sex, and it wouldn't be any better (prolly worse) than a well-made vid of a porn star.

Well, "porn" essentially is the capturing of sex by video/audio, as just mentioned, so the way I see it, what you'd be looking for would be amateur video.

At the same time, a couple can be 'pretend in love' for the purpose of a professional video.  But when looking at it this way, you pretty much are just taking every sex scene between a happy couple in any movie and removing the censoring.

So to me, the closest genres would be "hidden cam" and "R-rated love scenes"

I see. So, do these videos ever show couples embracing or cuddling or being charmingly affectionate?

I've seen what you are talking about but not in recent years. Sex on film, photo or online is a multi-billion dollar industry that cranks out product like an assembly line. Since content is subject to what the companies percieved idea of what the average male viewer wants...then what we get is the affore mentioned animalistic sex act. Many adult films of the 70's & 80's displayed more genuine human emotions than today's modern flicks. Also these early erotic films had plots and story lines executed by real stage actors who thought it would be fun to engage in this new medium.

Yep, that sounds about right to me too.  I mean, porn is one of those things where the stereotype may just define the word.  In todays society, the idea of "compassionate love-making" is anything but "porn" and is reserved for specific scenes in R-rated (or less!) plotted movies.
