How you like the (new) search? I mean the box at the top right hand corner, does it bring any usefull info or was the google -search better?

For comparison, you may try typing in the google search box "site:peachyforum.com SEARCHWORD" and see what Google would suggest.

Who cares what they come up with? just give the new search engine a go, it's great, (did a search on a topic created a few hours ago & found it straight away) hopefully no need to wait 6 months or however long it used to take for new topics to be indexed.

Regards

Edit: Tried other threads which google couldn't find & got results

Suppose the new search still has a lot of indexing to do.   Finds very new items quickly, but old ones still not. Just a matter of time I think.  Correct ?

At this stage the 'workaround' Google search gives better results.

Good point funky never really thought about the older threads, just got a bit excited. Probably best to use both till new seach engine is fully indexed.Thumbs up!

Currently, 102 221 posts are still being indexed, of which 25 220 is from Request a teen -forum. So, there's still a lot to do.

In the "search barrel" there's currently 354 290 words indexed... which is only about 100k more then before the weekend. So, my estimate for 3 days of indexing might well be quite a lot more...

I'll see if there's a way to speed it up.

The search is fast and current. As well as the forums, running at great speed even while indexing and multiple searches are going on every moment. http://peachyforum.com/user/ViewOnline.aspx
Beats the shit out of Google, thanks V for getting it up running smooth and 10X better than anyone expected.

Search works fine, 100X better than google, thank you a lot Vatsis! Good Job!

But the search-box is currently not visible, have you temporaly removed it to give indexing more resources?

Weird, the search box should be at the top right corner... you might mean the old seach box location, at the front page above "daily snapshot"? Don't know if we need it there anymore...

btw. If anyone doesn't see the search box at the top right corner, it might be because of using other "layout template" then default - you may check that from your control panel -> site options.

UPDATE: 433 870 searchwords indexed....

new search = almost too much awesome for me to comprehend.

important tip: besides name/site you can search for the URL too. leave out the irrelevant stuff (mainly referrers) and if the link has been posted before you will likely find it.

Weird... even the anonymous users should have the search, just checked. I can only come up with 2 reasons why it might be gone:

- if you're changed the layout style from your control panel, some of other layouts might not have the search box. The one that has is out default layout.

- might be something to do with caching... the page might be saved to your machine, so it's pre-update version. Reloading/refreshing the page should then help.

What browser are you using ? To enable Vatsis for checking what's wrong give as many details as possible.

In meantime you could use search through a 2nd window separately:
