Saw this documentary last night. Surprisingly good film I thought - well worth watching for any metal fans if you get a chance to see it (and non-metal and/or documentary fans).
Just came out on dvd in the US today I think?? So don't know if it's available elsewhere (unless you try other methods Wink)

The website has a trailer and other info (check out the cast section)...

...Cult Of Luna... I hardly understand their albums, but I really like this song. It's also on their Myspace page, together with Finland from the new album, which is great as well.

When Cult of Luna first appeared they were compared to Neurosis but whereas I've never really enjoyed Neurosis I instantly liked Cult of LunaConfused

'Sleep', from their debut album is my personal favourite by them, the denseness and repetition of the last few minutes just keeps building and building.....

And is that a Banjo on their latest?

Great posts guys. @h8sh8....I got an XVid of that DVD and I have watched it twice already. Awesome, thanks.

I had the latest Cult Of Luna CD but I can't find it, which means I deleted it for one reason or another. All I remember was it was atmospherical and weird.

Have you guys heard the new Iommi/Hughes "Fused" CD? Dayum this is a killer old-school album. Great riffs by Iommi, crystal clear and deep production, and an absolute vocal clinic by Hughes. Crank up "Wasted Again" or "Saviour Of The Real" and tell me that the 53 year old Mr. Glenn Hughes doesn't put almost every current singer to shame. And he shreds on bass too. This is the guy that QUIT Deep Purple in 1969.

My friend said "That dude nails Soundgarden!!". So I said: "Hughes was doing this same shit 30 years ago dumbass".

thought I'd throw a curve at y'all ... anyone ever heard of "Kittie"?, an all-girl metal band from Canada.

I just picked up their 2001 cd - 'Spit' ... impressive to say the least - these ladies can fuckin' play and they write some intense lyrics.

song #5 on the cd is their breakout anthem - "Do You Think I'm A Whore?"

if you get a chance, give it a listen.          My 2 cents

Yeah the Lander sisters rock. I have Oracle (which was '01, Spit was from '99) and their latest Until The End which has some pretty cool heavy songs on it.

Here is "Charlotte" from Spit:

Yep, I've heard of Kittie. I'll throw another one at ya: Octavia Sperati. Although they do employ a male drummer they wisely left him out of this pic:

And to all of you metal fucks that are reading this but never write anything -- why not say just "hey" or "whats up" to show you at least support the cause?

one of my all-time favourite bands...

In The Woods... - I Am Your Flesh (Live at the Caledonien Hall) - video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9q_Vo-4yFdM

uploaded this one myself Thumbs up! unfortunately only has part of the song (about the last 4.5mins of 6.5) - stuffed if I know where I got it from as it was years ago, but if anyone knows where to find more, could you please let me know - cheers. Yeah can upload the original file somewhere if anyone wants it - it about the same size as at youtube, but much less blocky.

I thought this gig was gonna be released on dvd sometime?? It's been years since the cd came out Crying Did I miss it's release? I need to see it Smile I wish they'd done more off HEart Of The Ages live though.

WASP (only for the excellent Crimson Idol album - didn't really like any others)
AC/DC
Guns N Roses (Appetite is a classic)

LOL Tigertailz - I own one of their singles, only got it though because it had covers of Creeping Death and Peace Sells, plus I found it second hand. (don't mean any offense to anyone who likes them)

no Manowar - how can the Kings of Metal not be listed Horrified - disappointed Gem Stick out tongue
Sorry only joking there man. Thumbs up!

Wow! A sudden spurt of activity!!!!

Fantastic stuff F'tard, out of the 3 bands you posted Krisiun would get my vote, in fact I think I laid down a link earlier?

Thanx h8sh8 for In The Woods... one of my all time favourites as well. Bitterly disappointed when they called it a day as I felt they had so much talent and inventiveness that would have increased even more over time. I think I've already said that I feel they had the best M/F dual vocals of any band. I love Green Carnation but they aren't a replacement as good as they are. Omnio has to be in my top 10 albums as well.

Gem:
Mercyful Fate
Testament
Iron Maiden (Early)
Motorhead (Early)
King Diamond

Twisted Sister?  >shudder<

I might post a Running Wild vid one day, Pirate Metal!!!!!!!

Not heard too much about Lamb of God I'll check out a vid and see if I like them....
